Saints Peter and Paul/San Pedro y San Pablo Episcopal Church

A vibrant bi-lingual, bi-cultural congregation on Portland's East Side.

Saints Peter and Paul Episcopal Church / San Pedro y San Pablo is a faithful congregation located on Portland’s East Side. We are working to become one community with different expressions, one congregation with two languages and cultures. We are exploring how to pray and serve and grow together.

Our worship is Catholic in “feel” and faith, where the Scripture is proclaimed with joy and hope.  Included in our schedule is a first Sunday Community Mass at 12:00 Noon in English and Spanish.  Every Sunday at 10:00 am we hold Mass in English, sometimes using Rite II from the Book of Common Prayer and sometimes worshiping in a Celtic style.

Our way of life is reflected in hospitality and service to our community. We welcome our neighbors who are seeking the ways to God and who hunger for the bread of life. We offer welcome and support to one another as we seek and serve the God who became flesh for us. We believe that God continues to reveal God’s own self in our midst and in the faces of the stranger and of those in basic human need.

Our welcome is unconditional.

As a “Believe Out Loud” congregation, we welcome and affirm persons of all sexual orientations and identities.

As individuals and as a community, we engage a path of prayer, study, and spiritual formation based on the Baptismal Covenant in the Book of Common Prayer.

We pray with our bodies and use all five senses in worship.

We value the witness and wisdom of the saints.

We honor the Virgin Mary as the Theotokos (God-Bearer) and model for Christian discipleship.

We embrace and celebrate life as a holy and precious gift.

We see God in the beauty of creation.

We strive for justice and peace among all people.

We respect the dignity of every human being.
